Lego Therapy

Lego therapy is a form of play therapy that uses Lego blocks to facilitate social interaction and communication skills in children and adolescents. Although it is not technically a form of art therapy, it can be used in conjunction with art therapy to promote creativity and self-expression.

Lego therapy typically involves groups of 2-4 children or adolescents working together to build a Lego model, with each child taking on a specific role in the construction process. The therapist acts as a facilitator, helping the group to work together and communicate effectively. The therapist may also use Lego therapy to address specific therapeutic goals, such as improving social skills or managing emotions.

Incorporating Lego therapy into an art therapy session can provide additional opportunities for creative expression and social interaction, as well as promoting problem-solving and fine motor skills. However, it is important to note that Lego therapy should only be used by qualified professionals who have received training in its use.
